Butch, please excuse my ignorance. Is the echo a stand alone device, or do you need a phone or tablet to use it? Did you need sighted assistance to set it up, or is it something a blind person can set up and use out of the box without assistance? Once you buy the hardware, do you pay amizon a monthly subscription fee? Thanks for your help.
