Hi Sky: As somebody who works for a vendor in Canada, I can tell you with absolute certainty that we never told that to anyone. I will admit that some of my coworkers were under that impression at first, but I let them know, and showed them if necessary, that that was not the case.
It may very well be that your experience with the vendors that you have dealt with tells a different story, I wouldn't be at all surprised, but I know that not all vendors did that. In fact, when I wanted to upgrade to Windows 9 and get an SMA, my coworker suggested that it would be cheaper to upgrade Microsoft Office to the latest version and then download the free version of Window-eyes.
