I've never been able to get Adobe Reader to work very well.
They need to take some of their own advice on accessibility.

Hi Robin, I have always had this issue. fortunately I have
short documents to deal with. I go to View then go to page
and put the page number in or use the numpad mouse to find
the current page, click on it and put the next page I want.
