Yes, it is the book from BARD. It does mention in the book that there
is a web site where things are updated, but I have not looked at that yet.
I also found a daisy version from Bookshare, which will allow me to
read, in print, things like keystrokes and search quickly through for
specific items.
I am interested in any kind of turorals I can get that will help me. I
am making my way through and feeling a bit more comfortable with many
things.

I assume that's the book from NLS BARD. It came out in the early days
of Windows 10. It should be useful, but a number of things have
changed since it was written. There is a Windows 10 tutorial by a
British author that is oriented to blind users and would probably
answer a lot of your questions, too. I don't have the URL here, though.

Thanks. I did figure it out. It only said "d" when I pressed winkey+d,
so I thought it was not allowing me to go to the desktop. Anyway,
thanks for the help. I just downloaded the Windows 10 Missing Manual.
It is quite a long book, so I will be busy for a long time, grin.

Carol,
When you close all programs, or at startup, and land in this window,
just press Windows+D to go to the desktop.

Hi Rod,
So, I guess it is like the pc losing focus? Boy! Do I have a lot
to learn!
I just downloaded the Windows 10 Missing Manual to see if I can get
some basic information. In some ways, this is not as bad as
switching from Windows 98 to Windows 7. But, there is a lot more
now than there was for that switch.
Thanks for the information.

Hi Carol,
It's just what we hear when nothing is focused, and it's something
we all just have to put up with. (sigh)
Best,

Hi,
What is foreground staging (which says nothing) and how can I keep
it from showing up and blocking everything?
Actually, it doesn't block everything unless it is the only thing
open, grin. It just is there and won't go away and I wish it
would, of course, if it has a function, I don't want to get rid of
it, I only want to get it closed. Thanks
Carol
