Hmmm, I'll have to check out the power options for sleepers I guess. I
don't think I have anything set to sleep here, but I certainly could be
wrong. You would think though that if there were sleeping apps or
hardware, that this would happen on a predictable cycle, but maybe not.
But anyway, thanks for that suggestion, and I hope it continues to work
for you, and will work for me as well.
BTW, what made you think of that <smile?>

Hi Larry. I was able to record 3.5 hours of streaming today. I used
the scheduler.
The other thing I did was to change power settings so my PC would not
sleep or turn off devices like the internet. This was something I
never had to worry about in Windows 7. I just said don't sleep and
nothing did, grin.

Carol,
I've been using TR for at least 15 years. Couldn't get along without
it. I use it, for
the most part, for recording audio streams. The gap here might be
that I am using the professional edition. With the pro edition, you
can schedule recording sessions, and in theory, and even in fact,
they can go on until you run out of drive space.
The streams that I record are .mp3, and the longest one I've recorded
was twelve hours without a hitch.
I say all that to say this. I do have a problem more often than I
would like with recordings that just quit with no real explanation. I
think I would give my right arm if I could find a way to do something
about it.
The thing is, the recording session doesn't shut down when this
happens, but stays open until the end of its scheduled time. I even
have TR set to reconnect when it loses the connection, at least that
is what I think is happening here, but no go.
OK, maybe I wouldn't give my right arm, but maybe a steak or chicken
dinner if someone could help me to figure this one out.
I kinda think it might be a problem with Comcast, but it is so
random in nature, I can think of no way for them to check it out. Oh
well.
I know this hasn't been very helpful, but maybe, just maybe someone
might hear our cry, and come to our aide.

Is there anyone on the list that uses Total Recorder standard
version 8.? I want to record something that runs for more than two
hours. It always stops early. How can I get something to record
until I come back and turn it off? Thanks. Also, are there either
tutorials or a written manual? I hate trying to find things in the
help screens from the internet.
