I first of all, need to get hold of Linux; whichever version I might go for. Someone sent me a link for Vinux, but all I can find on that page, is a lot of blah-blah about the project. It says to download it from the FTP, but the address on the page is ftp://ftp.vinux.org.uk/ and when I try that one, it keeps asking me for a username and password. These are told to be vinuxftp both, but that does not work. Any other attempts I have made to get hold of that Vinux thing, simply just has failed. Do you happen to know, if that project still is going? On the Vinux.org.uk, the latest I can seem to find, is some notes from a couple of years back. So just wonder if it all has discontinued. Anyway, what else can I do. You mentioned a few versions, and to a newbie, it simply makes little difference. Sorry. Which version would you suggest I start with, and where to get it? My appologies for silly questions, but I am quite blank on the Linux field, so forebare with me please.
