Which reminds me. I think the discussion was here recently about mph in the UK (as in maxspeed=20mph or whatever) I was wondering whether for a similar reason to the above it would make sense to tag routes where it applies (sign white circle with black diagonal line) with: maxspeed=national rather than =60mph or =70mph (or even =30mph if the national speed limit signs include a built up street lit area, apparently), in case the government redefine what the national limit actually is. Or if it happened is there some way of automatically updating all 70mph values to 80mph (and hope that they are all actually signed with the national speed limit sign rather than the specific value of 70). It would be a nightmare having to check every way and amend the values manually.
