Since we have user management anyway, we could also just have a user preference that says "with or without coordinates". Anonymous surfers would get the map without, logged-in members would see what they prefer. I think those that desperately want coordinates should simply go ahead and implement one of these options. As long as you don't clutter the map for those not interested, I don't see that such a change would be rejected.
