Thanks to everyone for the responses so far to "Coordination for Haiti mapping." While I concur with the responses so far, I would like to emphasize that managing volunteer efforts to avoid duplication is applicable to any major mapping initiative (humanitarian related or not) so it may be a worthwhile idea to discuss with the broader OSM community.
