I'm also a happy user of openmaps on iPad. To temporaly solve the problem (using openmaps) i add openmapquest tile server to openmaps. http://otile[1234].mqcdn.com/tiles/1.0.0/osm/<zoom>/<x>/<y>.png But it doesn't really solve anything.
