I find this supremely ironic, given that we are talking about the organization of a mapping project. After all, the whole idea of mapping is that you can't represent everything and have to choose what details to omit. In the same way, it is necessary to abstract from all the details of participants' interests if any coherence is to be given to the project as a whole.
