I have my pop settings on Outlook to retain mail  on the server for 2 days.

Well to start out! You will ntot find a Check Mail option in Talks being the
Mail client isn't part of Talks. The mail program is part of the phone.

You'll probably need to check your SLS/PLS setting to maybe turn them on/off
for the Mail client. If this is set incorrectly! The Nokia EMail client will
not be able to retrieve the EMail.
