did you go in to mail box settings on the phone and check they are right.
when ever you create an email account on your phone it always uses your
carrier's internet access. Also you need to alter the what to sink
settings. by default it downloads less than 2k of each message I set mine
to body and attach so I get the entire message. by the way you need to
change the access points for both incoming mail and outgoing mail you do
this in advanced mailbox settings. even if during the initial setting up of
your mail account you specified your home network you will find that in
advanced settings for both in coming and outgoing it's using your carrier.
another thing to alter in what to cync is the number of messages you need to
set this to all as by default it's only 30.
Check your when to cync settings as well the default is hourly but if it
could not log in successfully the first time it sometimes will switch to
manual.
Hope this helps you.

Also, if your PC pulled the email down, then they won't be around for the
phone to grab.

Well to start out! You will ntot find a Check Mail option in Talks being
the
Mail client isn't part of Talks. The mail program is part of the phone.
<smile>
You'll probably need to check your SLS/PLS setting to maybe turn them
on/off
for the Mail client. If this is set incorrectly! The Nokia EMail client
will
not be able to retrieve the EMail.

Subject: [Talks] BT yahoo email.
I have posted this question on a general blind computing list butt have
had
no response. I wonder if the Talks community have a suggestion.
I have just tried to set up my BT Yahoo email account on my Nokia N86.
I am connection through my wireless network at home.
The Nokia reports that the setup was successful but when I arrived at the
Bt
yahoo inbox on the phone the mailbox was empty. I had to get my daughter
to
confirm this as Talks did not announce this.
This was not true as the mailbox actually has 21 items in it which I have
just downloaded to my Pc.
I also tried to send a test email from my phone to my own inbox. This
was
reported as being sent by Talks but has not been received by BT Yahoo.
I have pop3 enabled on BT yahoo.
Pressing the option key under Talks only gives the option to disconnect
or
create or
send mail.
I have not found a check mail button on talks yet..
The BT yahoo pages assume you will contacting via a dial up number rather
than using a wireless network so it is difficult to tell what settings
are
not working. The phone appears to get into my mail account properly with
the
right password but does not seem to be able to detect any of the content
in
the mail boxes..
Any suggestions?
Many thanks
Regards
David Griffith
