Oscar asked that I remind everyone about the Benefit Milonga this coming
Sunday at the Claremont Hotel. His portion of the earnings will be going to
a very special cause, to feed hungry children in his hometown of Missiones,
which has been suffering a lot because of the financial meltdown in
Argentina in the past couple of years. Oscar has already donated a
significant portion of his earnings to the community centers which donate
meals to the needy. He has coordinated with the Secretary of Culture of
Misiones to be able to go there personally to donate the funds and oversee
the distribution of the food, from the money that he collects on this trip.
Each person who donates will be able to sign a special card that we will
have available at the milonga on Sunday and to sign up for a photo of the
children of Misiones to be sent to them by email.

The milonga will be from 9-12 p.m. and he will teach a special class on
chacarera (an Argentinian folkdance) and also some tango salon ( if time
permits - you know how Oscar loves to teach!) from 8-9 p.m. Our special
guest will be Gigi Gamble singing some Argentinian songs.

There will be validated parking. As you know, the Claremont is a lovely,
historic, romantic hotel and you can come dressed to the nines if you want
to.

If you are unable to come to the milonga but would like to donate something
anyway you can send checks made out to Oscar Mandagaran's Children's Fund to
c/o S. Ling, 30 the Uplands, Berkeley, CA 94705.

As for his schedule this week, on Tuesday starting at 7 p.m. we have the
advanced I series at Lake Merritt Dance Center, 200 Grand Ave.
Saturday starting at 1 p.m. we have the advanced II series at the Tango
Studio, Berkeley.
Saturday night he will be teaching at the BEAT prior to the milonga 9-10:30
p.m.
Sunday he will be teaching beginner class at 11 a.m. at the Claremont Hotel,
and intermediate classes starting 2 p.m. And then the Benefit Milonga that
night.
For a more detailed schedule check out the website stellatango.com or email
[email protected]. Private time is also still available.

Thanks
Stella
