The 2004 New York City International Tango Competition For Professional
Instrumentalists and Singers will be held 10 - 12 May at::
Auditorium Consulate General of Argentina

The purpose of the competition is to play a meaningful role in the
discovery and support of new talents exploring and preserving the art of
Tango.

Semifinals will be held Monday the 10th and Tuesday the 11th of May, from
4pm to 9pm
Finals will be held Wednesday the 12th of May from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Grand Prize: Hotel and Round Trip Tickets to Argentina and performances in
Buenos Aires' famous Tango venues in late August 2004 and performances in
New York City.

The competitions was open to professional instrumentalists and singers of
all nationalities with no age limit. Based on submitted sample tapes, CDs
or videos of performance, 25 individuals and/or ensembles were selected to
participate.

Presented by Chamber Players International & Argentine American Society and
hosted by The Consulate General of Argentina in New York .
