There is one already : http://www.tapestryforums.com/index.php
and it's referenced on Tapestry's home page.
Shame is that most of people participate on this list, and it's very hard to migrate them to forums since once list got legacy advantage. If everything would start from beggining, I doubt more people would be here than on forums. As it is now, I think it would require to close this mailing list to migrate people, and as some prefer mailing list, that move would be taken rather badly, so we're stuck with hoping that more people would go there by time.

I agree that searching is terrible this way.

Maybe the new Tapestry and the new site would be a good opportunity to do something about the mailinglist. It isn`t searchable (so it is difficult to find answers to questions that must have been asked before) and maybe it would be a idea to add a forum. This allows greater control how messages/topics are stored and helps to structure conversations a lot better.

Finding answers is the biggest problem I have with Tapestry at the moment. If you don`t have to figure something out it beats my previous webframework (Maverick + JSP) and it works great.. If you have to figure something out, you know you have to spend a lot of time finding the right information (although it is there).

I could be incorrect about this and I hope someone corrects me if I am.

junit-report.xml is only generated after junit is run (I think).
But, when I built hivemind-beta1 from source, that file wasn't
created. So I did a checkout of hivemind from CVS and built it.
Although the compilation failed, it did create a junit-report.xml
file. So I pointed Tapestry at my CVS checked out version of
hivebuild to do the build and everything worked fine.

I would second that emotion. Though I guess Howard
may be in transit to javaone? Anyways, I tried
building it to no avail. I downloaded hivemind beta 1
and tried pointing the config at it. Here is what I
got:

C:\java\tapestry-4.0-beta-1\framework\build.xml:33:
Cannot find c:/java/hivemind
/hivebuild/junit-report.xml imported from
C:\java\tapestry-4.0-beta-1\framework\
build.xml

Sure enough, that file does not exist. Anyone getting
anywhere getting this beta to work?

Some polishing definetly has to be done here.
Root directory with /docs, /lib, /src,

IMPORTANT.txt (to inform about

missing dependencies) and build.xml for

downloading missing dependencies

would be ideal.

Ok, glad it wasn't just me being dumb. Any chance
we might get to see a
repackaged beta-1?

Thanks,
Kevin
