I don't quite understand what the problem is that some people have with
the mailinglist. You can
1 - have it delivered by mail to your own account
-------------------------------------------------------
I can access a forum to see if someone replied and there are enough
forums that can send a message if someone entered a message on your
topic (you don`t recieve messages you don`t need... Like now).

2 - read it with an NNTP reader via gmane
3 - read it on the web using gmane
4 - search it using gmane
-------------------------------------------------------
I have never heard of gmane/nntp. And I can access all the older post
(eg a year ago)?

I don`t think the mailinglist is that bad.. Lucene uses it to.. But you
can`t search through it. At the moment I can`t with tapestry. In 9 of 10
cases I can find an answer by looking through the documentation and
searching through a forum/mailinglist. I can`t with Tapestry.. So there
are a lot of cases I have to ask questions (that don`t get answered) or
look for a realy long time. I understand why questions are not answered
with Tapestry (the same old questions.. It`s a bore.. I don`t answer the
same question over and over again.. Utfs..), but for new developers it
is a crime to find the information they need if they can`t ask and can`t
search. I want to UTFS :)

The consequence is that simple things can take a long time and that
makes Tapestry risky to use. This is the biggest problem I have with
Tapestry. I`m a skilled programmer and currently looking for a
replacement for our Maverick/JSP-solution (makes your head hurt)..
Tapestry fits my needs (I love it), but if I would reject Tapestry it
would not be because the technology, but because it is difficult to
find/get answers. Especially for less skilled programmers at hour
company this would be a good argument to reject Tapestry (and I don`t
want too because if you know your thing.. It works great)
