By the way, there is a bluegrass camp at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas, just West of Lubbock. It is in July each year and lasts for a week. It seems to always fall when my kids have some sporting event, camp, or some church related activity. I'd love to go to it someday but I would also like to go and hear and learn from masters of all styles of mandolin music.
There are some good musicians in this part of the world but the festivals are small. I would love to see it expand and bring in more fans. Of course, Texas Swing is very popular, especially among the older people. There is a female fiddle player in San Angelo who is very good. Anyway, I hope to be able to be able to attend one of the camps in the near future.
