I've been after an oval hole for a while, and really preferred the look of a snakehead. That being said, I had to be reasonable about what I got. I kept thinking that it would be a shame to buy one and then leave it sitting in the case if the sound wasn't right for me. Live and learn, I guess. I love the sound. 

I think your point about having time for the sound to ripen is dead on. It sounds wicked good for slow tremelo and stuff like "Gospel Plow" or "Going to See the King". 

I sat with my head about four feet away from your F4 when you and David played at the Grey Eagle and was blown away. It's a wall of sound...although I'm sure your right hand is a factor there. I saw you play that Snakehead--and maybe a whiteface paddlehead--on the Down from the Mountain tour and was impressed by the sound. Don't know why I waited so long.
