I'm trying to figure out the bebop break he does 1:05 into the tune.
Anybody have a clue what in the world is going on? I'm having trouble
wrapping my brain around it. At first I thought its main
characteristic was a rhythm change -- going from a walking 4-beat
tempo to almost a syncopated polka 2-beat feel. Or does it have
something to do with modal playing, a la John Coltrane? I've heard him
do this sort of thing on other YouTube vids. It's not the way Monroe
would have done it but I like it. Anybody have any ideas?
