If any of you have ever seen Andy in person he does hum and I'm not sure he really knows what he is doing, in the heat of it. He obviously knows what he is doing but it seems to come out so randomly in most of his playing.
Rough outline..... check! Spontanious picking...... double check! I watched him a sam grisman jam last year... Looked like Sam was going to shit himself when Andy said let's jam. He ofcourse held his own but there were no gimmees. So trying to figure Mr. Statmen, I'll leave to ya'll and I'll return to enjoying listening to it...
