It's funny to think of us all sitting around looking the same stuff up
on the web when we're supposed to be working! Well, at least that's my
situation. Luke Bulla's version, which Mark beat me on posting a link
to, is pretty hot. (I don't think they get past the introductory
flourishes until about 1:28.) Sounds close to Haley's to me, from what
I can hear between people walking past my office, forcing me to
pretend to be doing something I'm being paid to do. This is a great
example of how the little black notes don't do music justice. Most
people would never get the Baggott transcription to sound anything
like Luke -- or Ed's scratchy recording. I've found some "simpler" G
major versions of this, as no doubt some of y'all have done. A simpler
root tune? I'm skeptical of the 6/4 measures stuck in the tune ...
maybe "scared" is the better word. I put down my 99 cents at the
iTunes store for the Nashville Bluegrass Band's version to hear how
Sir Tater navigates these Twilight Zone tempo passages...
