If you want a more elegant way to attach the wire than drilling for an
endpin jack or the carpenter jack, look into the Tapastring Vintage
Jack.

I wasn't fond of the acoustic sound of the Fishman bridge top, but it
will slide over your existing bridge base, run the wire through the f
hole and in to the tapastring. You want to borrow my Fishman Aura to
make it sound better?

A Shertler or the AKG C411 would sound more natural in that they're
contact microphones, not piezos. The wires coming off them are a
little less elegant unless you get someone to install the Shertler
inside and run it to a Tapastring. It would give your soundman a mic
level signal without going through a DI. The AKG will need phantom
power and can't be permanently installed--you'll have to put it on and
take it off after each use. It sounds about the same as the Shertler.

What's Stu-Bob use on his fiddle for plugging in?
