I had to learn Bb and B about 6 or 7 months ago. As when I sang this
song in A it was well to low. I was intimidated but really enjoy it
now. The song that I learned it for, does not sound real good(when I
play it) with the ring of open strings. I really enjoy the double
stops in closed positions and finding those surprising open strings
(at least to me) the D string open for a cool flat 3rd sound in B or
regular 3rd in Bb. "I'm Blue and I'm Lonesome, too" was the song.

I don't care if I use or don't use a capo... I don't have one so I may
never use one, who knows? I agree "Punk"in pie (tis the season had to
do it)... not learning odd keys will do your playing a disservice.
Learning that one song has opened many a door for getting around in
Odd keys or regular keys up the neck. Wish my Bass player felt the
same way.

The workshop I went to, they showed Sally Good'n in Eb. pretty good
stuff in Eb for that song with that open G.

I am a person who currently doesn't hear a whole lot of accent notes
so most of my playing is bare bones, not with out flares or taste,
but, not flashy either. I enjoy my playing and am not looking to
become Andy Statman or Dawg so I don't see myself writing down my
solos anytime soon but improving is always our goal, I think.

Not being able to read music and only stumbling through tab really
assists my non composed solos.

I guess I could record my self and file through the different ways I
play it, as I can usually remember how I play things and pick and
choose from that???
