Do you mean taverna needs to make many calls to get Soaplab service descriptions? > It now gets the Biomoby and Biomart service descriptions so soaplab > looks a bit empty. In taverna-1.7.1, biomoby, biomart and soaplab services all require users right-click and select 'fetch descriptions' options to get service descriptions displayed. In taverna-2.1, it looks like you removed fetch descriptions for all three service types and made automated calls for biomoby and biomart but not for soaplab. If it is because you didn't want to make too many calls we have a new method in Soaplab interface called getAvailableAnalysesWithDescription that returns all service descriptions in one go. http://www.ebi.ac.uk/soaplab/services/AnalysisFactory?wsdl However, this method is only supported by latest Soaplab2 so it would be safer if you keep the early mechanism for Soaplab servers that doesn't have this new method.
