So should I take this as advice that in general there will be no guarantees 
that Taverna Server will work reliably on Windows (I assume the client will 
always work)?  Unless there is somebody with a real windows need who can step 
up and maintain things I guess.

Just to be clear, if that is the case, thats fine, I have been a happy *nix 
user for a long time and I can relate :).  However, since our project does 
involve windows only tools I will have to take a closer look at workarounds or 
alternative engines.
