You're wrong here. Some messages are like an 'open case-file'. I, for
one, are receiving lots of messages with technical questions about The
Bat! which sometimes _require_ further inquiry at RITLabs e.g. It can
take some days to get the appropriate answer to reply to the user. As
long as nothing happens, this question is _pending_ although the system
immediately auto-replied to the user's inquiry that his message was read
and that it could take some time to get his issue cleared.

There's a difference in mails being read or flagged as 'done'. It's like
case closed: e.g. an order was _read_ after receipt but it is _done_
when payment arrives or goods are sent. I have special folders where I
manually move messages when they're 'done'. This could be easily done
with a filter moving all 'done' flagged' messages to specific folder(s).
But that's not an essential...

named 'park' :-)

(No joke: I just got an reg-order phonecall today for The Bat! from a
guy who wasn't able to reply to the orderform to sent it back to me -
he's going to use snail mail). Sometime in future he may become an
advanced user too :-)

That's a subjective point of view. Flags _remind_ me visually that s.th.
has to be done with this message. (If you have reached a decent age it
happens that you need s.th. _reminding_ you :-)
Anyway, I can happily live with the current implementation of flags -
and I still see no need for setting priority of received messages...
