Sending out an e-mail using SMTP with a PDF file results in the mail not being sent. I have reverted to an earlier version and sent the exact same e-mail with no problem. Maybe we should just wait until the next beta version is released. I'm not sure what is to be gained by chasing down this problem when a new, rewritten product is pending.
