But this is a very crude workaround at the very least, isn't it? IMO that's

Maybe it's similar problem as the one I've been for months now (and got
similar "solution" proposals to): one of my IMAP accounts suffers *one
ghost message*. Almost permanently, this account displays one unread
message in the folder list, but there is none such message to be found in
the messages. Sometimes it disappears, then it comes back. No amount of
cleaning save for deleting and recreating the (root Inbox) folder fixed
this.
 => Maybe RITLabs could invest some into a message base sanitizer function
 which would essentially do exactly this: read all messages from a message
 base and save them in exactly the same logical structure, but newly
 written. Or resolve data inconsistencies on the fly.

Sorry...but that won't keep me from doing it none the less? Now that brings a 
couple interesting questions!
BTW. you also posted an HTML message into a list where 100%-2 stick to text ;)
