There is a misunderstanding. Your exact question was

to your question, or in other words
- "yes, of course I do not suspect betatesters of such idiocy"

You asked "Is NOT A" ?
He replied "Yes, NOT A"

If he though that we are idiots then he would answer
"NO NOT A" thus A

It has to do with the language interpretation of two negations.
