I'm having some strange behaviours in View Modes in RC/3 too, but I noted
them in previous betas.

Well, I cannot confirm this: my Mode1 remains the same as i configured in
the point 3.

My issues are for threaded view. I set 2 Mode views: <generic>, that is Not
Threaded, and "Threaded".

For example, start with all your folders in a non-threaded mode. Ensure
you have View > Options > View Threads by > None. Apply the
<generic> view mode to all folders.

Then try to apply the "Threaded" View Mode to a single folder. My messages are
still in non-threaded mode. So I try to change the "View Theads by >
References" in View > Option menu. This new threaded view applies
correctly in this single folder, but also in all the other folders, which
doesn't have a Threaded sorting 8(

Perhaps there is confusion between the View / Display menu and the View
Modes. I'd remove all types of sorting/views from other menus except from
the view modes preferences. Only following this way, we should avoid any
confusion.
