Yes, Alexander, if this approach works reliably, then adding to the address book before answering is the better solution. But I must admit that I still feel somewhat unsatisfied with the way the macros treat prefixes - standard or non-standard - as a first name. I think this could be simplified by some process where the identification of a prefix automatically excludes it from recognition as a name. In any event, thanks very much for the help. I will keep experimenting with this to see if it fills my need. And, yes, maybe I did not use that ABOFROMFIRSTNAME macro correctly - perhaps the From address from which I was testing was not in the address book. By the way, do you have any comment about my other feature request regarding the way TB handles change of case for multiple words in a string? -- Avi Yashar Windows XP Pro SP2 and TB Pro 3.0.1 RC7 ________________________________________________________ Current beta is 3.0.1 RC/7 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
