Yes, Alexander, if this approach works reliably, then adding to the
address book before answering is the better solution. But I must admit
that I still feel somewhat unsatisfied with the way the macros treat
prefixes - standard or non-standard - as a first name. I think this
could be simplified by some process where the identification of a
prefix automatically excludes it from recognition as a name.

In any event, thanks very much for the help. I will keep experimenting
with this to see if it fills my need. And, yes, maybe I did not use
that ABOFROMFIRSTNAME macro correctly - perhaps the From address from
which I was testing was not in the address book.

By the way, do you have any comment about my other feature request
regarding the way TB handles change of case for multiple words in a
string?
