Exactly. Agree completely. It annoys me too that if I sort one folder by sender, then all folders (with a variety of view modes) are suddenly sorted by sender, too. I'd prefer a menu entry for _system_wide_ changes: Global view mode (which can be set back to Undefined to "return" to all the view modes set for individual folders), global sorting. Set from the View menu, they would apply to all.
