Dear Bill, @2-Apr-2005, 13:43 -0600 (02-Apr 20:43 UK time) Bill McCarthy [BM] in mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] said to TB:
W> Current beta is 3.0.9.12 Return Correct. That is the version we are all engaged in testing right now. W> Should it not say: W> Current alpha is 3.0.9.12 Return W> Current beta is 3.0.2.10 No. 3.0.2.10 is not the current beat version. Sure, it was the last stable beta we saw, but any beta test reports on that version are worthless to us here or to RITlabs. I accept that the 3.0.9 series is the least stable beta series ever brought to air in the history of TB betas. But it is a radical set of changes. It is also improving with every iteration. I now find it very usable with only a few quirks and discomforts. W> Also, it is getting more difficult to find beta posts in the maze W> of alpha posts that fail to identify themselves. Perhaps using the W> term alpha in the subject line would not be too much to ask? W> That way it would be easy to filter those emails to trash. I don't understand this point at all. Either you are taking part in the testing of new versions as announced on the TBBETA list (whether they are described as alpha, pre-beta or whatever) or you only want to use stable / released versions. The use of the phrase "pre-beta" is nothing more than an acknowledgement by RITlabs that they have (being put under pressure by an impatient beta test team) released this series a little earlier in the development process than they might have wished. That doesn't mean it's not a beta. Quite the contrary. -- Cheers -- //.arck D Pearlstone -- List moderator and fellow end user TB! v3.0.9.12 Return on Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 '
