Well.. You could use linux and wine, and then run most of your windows
apps :P
Even Crossover Office has a long way to go before it will offer a real
alternative way
to run Windows software. Maybe someday.
The problem with trying to popularize Linux, I think, is that it is a
programmer's OS.
If you don't positively enjoy digging around in the bowels of your computer
for
that obscure setting, if you just want to be able to turn it on and have
everything work,
better stick with Windows. Better yet, MacIntosh. Not that those both
don't have serious
difficulties.
But those difficulties don't present themselves, usually, unless you have
been installing
software and changing things. Installing software and changing things is
aberrant
behavior.
