Generally I tend to save attachments to disk and then delete them from the message. So I don't think the folder is "unreasonably" heavy in respect to attachments. And, actually, I get slow searches in more than one folder. But how deep do we really need to investigate? I have an installation of TB that runs fine without OTFE. I run searches in that non-OTFE TB, and they always complete smoothly and relatively fast. When I take that same installation of TB - with exactly the same data base - do the TB complete backup on the folders and then a fresh install of TB with restore to activate OTFE - and then run searches on that OTFE-enabled version of the same data base, the result is searches that appear to hang forever. And I'm not the only person reporting slow searches. Not all of those reports relate to OTFE, but they do all relate to the Message Finder. So there is definitely something wrong here. For me, that occurs when I try to use OTFE. Sorry that I haven't managed to figure out anything more than that. I was rather hoping that someone from Ritlabs would guide me on where to look for the cause so we could debug this. I even offered to let Vili use his remote access software to tinker. So far I have received no takers - which, to use Vili's own logic, means that no one at Ritlabs really cares. Okay, just joking. They care, but like my searches in OTFE, they get around to caring so slowly that it appears that they don't care. ;-) -- Avi Yashar Windows XP Pro SP2 and The Bat!
