I don't think so. But I'm not sure that I have any folders that are exclusively text messages. At least a few HTML messages are likely to have crept in. I should mention here that I have done this experiment - going from non-OTFE to OTFE three times now. My test computer with OTFE installed on it is not booted up just now.
