That's an observation, not a solution. If you delete tbuser.def, you lose customization - including all the shortcuts you spend much time creating - because in the new method it is so hard to find things (for example, I wasn't able to find the location of customization for the View Folder - I have a shortcut to toggle the message list). Besides, once I did redo all my customization, this problem may happen again.
