This a valid comparison between you and me except that you are using XP. I have already expressed in this list that XP takes 2-3 times longer to process the OTFE as does Win2k on my message base. And this is using the flash drive on a USB 2 port on XP. Of course, this is one of dozens of reasons I do not use XP. I find that the longer the program runs and the greater the message volume affects the length of the shut-down. It may be that the Windows write-behind caching has an impact on this. Running the pro version from a hard drive is a separate set of circumstances. BTW, I run folder compression on exit. -- Take Care, Paul The Bat! v.3.65.02 on Win2k SP4-Rollup1 5.0.2195 No IMAP No OTFE Opera 8.51 ________________________________________________________ Current beta is 3.70.02 "Qigong" | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
