Next time, don't delete the renamed file. Renaming from .def to .de_
means that TB won't find it, so that's like it isn't there. But you
can  still go back later for testing purposes. OTOH you already know
this by now, don't you. ;-)

Use whichever filename you fancy. Over here, I use the TB version
number. The exported file will have the .reg extension by default,
just don't change that. You can also change the directory, I usually
put TB-related registry keys (those exported with regedit and carrying
the .reg extension) into my TB directory.
