I don't know about the POP part any more, since I no longer use it except on rare occasions for some special reason, but I disagree with your negative assessment of IMAP. It may not be perfect, and there are a few things about Outlook which I am forced to use some at work because of interfacing with other software, but I find it quite usable, and preferable to any other options I tried. -- Dwight A.
