The first computer I programmed on was a Norsk Data mainframe in 1978.
We even manipulated the punching cards by hand to correct typing
mistakes (they didn't have holes but blacked-out fields). Problem was,
they weren't numbered, so you had to be really careful to not take
them out of order.

Friends of mine had Commodore's at home. When Microsoft came up with
their Vision "a computer in every home", I laughed: I was used to much
more computing power than those "home computers", or "personal
computers" (a new word at the time) could provide. Besides, why would
I want to have a computer at home? I don't play computer games.
