  Thanks, John, for solving that part of the mystery.  After I posted
  my message, I realized that I had reasoned that out before, but I
  had forgotten my previous conclusion.   What can I say?  My
  forgetter is more functional that my rememberer.

  Now if only one of the wizards on this list can offer a solution. I
  confess I'm worried that it isn't possible, though it would make
  sense to have the ability to tell The Bat! to use the address book
  initials in the quoted reply.
