Well, yes. Without a LAN it's rather meaningless to talk about a
multiuser approach.

...and IMO far outweighed by having the Connection Centre and
antivirus tasks handled in the background on the server machine. And
the ability to have shared folders among users. That's the real reason
I've stayed with TB over the years - nothing else comes close to this
level of usability.
