On this (office) computer: Because they installed it the day before I
arrived in Taiwan, to prepare my work place. They hadn't thought that
some people might not be able to read Chinese. Very much like
Westerners never think that some people might not be able to read
English.

On my home computer: because in the shop - where they didn't speak any
English - they didn't have an English Windows to install for me. I
also haven't found one yet . I just brought a Thai Windows from
Bangkok and might install this over the Chinese Windows (I read Thai),
but I am afraid that it will just make my machine unstable. Do you
have any experience with installing a Win version over a version with
another language? Both are Win98.

Apart from the fear of instability, kindly allow me a stupid question:
Will this (installing another Win98 over an existing Win) reformat my
hard disk?

Thanks. ;-)
