The real mess comes from the additional programs.
Windows without additional programs can with a bit of luck, especially
in 98 be overwritten, but note you are talking here versions of
windows which are almost identical except for the localisation.
You only need to install the one program in one of those 2 langiages
which doesnt like it and you will find out why one shouldnt mix it.
Office 2000 English on top of German windows was another great mix...
It may work in the beginning but...

One is enough....
But why would you want it? Office 2000 in 98 v2 should be able to
handle all European language easily and for those cases where it needs
special addons, MS has those language packs.
