Hi TBUDL,
I already make use of quick-templates and the %QINCLUDE macro to set
up message templates for every day use and by-and-large I'm quite
satisfied with the result.
However, one area that still trips the system up occasionally is in
the selection of the name when using a macro command such as...
Hi %TOFNAME, (as in "Hi TBUDL," above...)
Occasionally the To field doesn't specify the name exactly as I might
wish if, for example, the email address to which I'm sending a message
is of the form [EMAIL PROTECTED] In this case I don't really
want to send a message addressed to 995430821.
Is there a simple way to overcome this problem for at least the
addresses I have in my address book. I thought it might be nice to
have a macro along the lines of "%ADDRBOOKNICKNAME" (my translation
for those not used to reading such compound abbreviations is
'address-book-nick-name') such that the nick-name (one could also use
'First Name' too) is inserted rather than the portion before the '@'
character in an email address.
Obviously, this is not a problem if everyone sent their messages out
with a sensible reply-to address of the form...

although it is still a problem if the 'sensible' name is made more
formal than usual such as 'Jonathan Johnson' when everyone knows this
person simply as 'Jon.'
It may be that a macro for this exists and I don't know about it or it
could be that one doesn't exist because there's a much better solution
which again I don't know about. Anyway...
Any ideas to help me further my lazy 'can't be bothered to type more
than I have to' mentality? I surely would appreciate your thoughts...
