To run VMware on both Linux and Windows you need two versions, both of
which are very expensive. The linux version won't install in Windows
  and vice versa.

I have a duel boot system here and have VMWare installed under linux
and TB! does run very nicely in VMWare. But then it would because
VMWare isn't really a Windows emulator. It's a virtual hard drive and
for it to work you have to install Windows or whatever OS you want.

So in fact I have two installations of Windows, the main one on hda1
and another installed in Vmware on the Linux partition. Not very
efficient use of HD space really.

It is in fact Windows in a window. Personally I think if you want to
run Windows applications you should run Windows. The only reason I run
Windows is because of two programs, TB! being one and Sally, a Amateur
Packet program being the other. They both run in VMWare but speed is
greatly decreased..... Even with VMWare tools installed.

I must admit, I have never tried TB! in Wine but may have a play with
it a bit later to see what occurs.
