I have 12 dialup accounts, I switch them in the account | properties |
network settings, and when I want one account to dial-up specifically,
I choose that account. Usually, i just have the email account and the
dialup use the exact same name. Some email accounts I don't want to
check mail on so I set them to ignore on the "check all accounts
request."

Another way is to have the "NETWORK and ADMINISTRATION" button handy
and just switch it on the fly. (that's the button on the left side,
the very bottom button) You'd have to have that toolbar turned
on to see the button in the first place.
ie. View | Toolbars | Configuration
