AFAIK, you see email in your cell phone because it is using IMAP to access your 
account. What are you using in TB, POP or IMAP? If POP, what is your 
setting for "When messages are accessed with POP" in Settings -> 
Forwarding and POP/IMAP in your Gmail account?
